Surplus Shop
The Mint Lane Surplus Food Shop offers a wide range of produce, all of which has been donated or rescued from going to waste.
Local food producers stock our shelves with delicious fruit and vegetables.
Our prices are very reasonable, ranging from only 20p for a range of store cupboard staples. We also have a wide selection of fresh fruit and vegetables available each week with a mixed ‘bowl full’ for just £1.
Every Tuesday we receive our Fareshare delivery - in addition to our supermarket surplus donations from local Lidl and Aldi branches

The ‘Surplus Shop’ is now open every Tuesday from midday until 3pm for the local community to have the best opportunity to get a budget friendly shopping basket full!
Catering Services
Want to provide a truly sustainable spread for your next corporate or community event? Our new catering offer is all about going back to the core essence of what Mint Lane is all about.. ‘Repurposing Supermarket Surplus' - To be specific, this means that every catering job will have at least 80% supermarket surplus ingredients.
Focusing on utilising supermarket surplus definitely doesn't mean that there has to be a compromise on the quality of the offer though.. Just needs a good dollop of creativity, diverse thinking and the mindset of a 'Ready Steady Cook' chef.

Cafe
Mint Lane Community Cafe is at the heart of our organisation, offering a community orientated space with shared tables to encourage sociability.
You can expect a hot meal every day, lovingly prepared by our brilliant volunteers in our fully kitted commercial kitchen.
Breakfast is served from 10am - 12pm and includes porridge, cereal and toast.
Lunch is served from 12pm – 2pm and we make sure to offer a two course meal everyday, from as little as £3
This offering includes homemade soup, a warming main course, a vegan option, an alternative option such as jacket potatoes, and a lovingly made, yummy pudding.
Kids eat free!
Eat in or takeaway service.

Donate Ingredients
We get a regular delivery of supermarket surplus ingredients each week to help us to cook up a storm for our customers.. However, there are still a few store cupboard staples that we are regularly in need of to help us to work our magic.
If you are able to pop a couple of extras into your weekly shop for us from the list below we would be very grateful. Donations can be handed directly to a member of our café team or dropped into our donations box in the entrance area.
